Celebrity boxer and wannabe drug mogul Mike Tyson has launched his first magic mushroom product: a DIY mushroom grow kit. It’s called “Mikeadelics,” and the kit is a partnership with Advanced Mycology, a company specializing in shroom cultivation. It will primarily consist of a bag filled with substrate materials like coco coir, vermiculite, and crushed oyster shells that mushrooms can grow on. It will not include mushroom spores—those have to be purchased separately from Advanced Mycology’s website or another seller.

The grow kit joins a growing list of products sold on Tyson’s company Tyson 2.0, which currently carries cannabis flower and edibles. The company’s ear-shaped weed gummies, called “Mike Bites,” went viral when they launched this year. Not all of Tyson’s ventures have been successful, though. In 2017, he announced plans to build Tyson Ranch—a wellness-focused resort in Desert Hot Springs, California, that would span nearly 420 acres, and include a lazy river that guests could float down while smoking blunts. But the Ranch never materialized, due to “bad management and just lack of cannabis knowledge,” Tyson 2.0’s CEO Adam Wilks told Westworld

In addition to building his budding drug empire, Tyson has invested in Wesana Health, a biotech company developing psychedelic therapies for traumatic brain injuries. Tyson told Maxim, which first broke the news, that he believes psychedelics should be legalized. “And I’m not just saying that from an entrepreneur perspective, I’m saying that from a health perspective,” he said. “I think the planet would be different. I think everybody would be at their highest form of thinking.”

The $50 Mikeadelics kit does not include the mushroom spores themselves because of legal restrictions, as psilocybin mushrooms are still federally illegal in the United States. The DEA, however, has said that uncultivated spores are legal because they do not contain psilocybin or psilocin; these psychoactive alkaloids only appear once mycelium and fruiting bodies form. Some states have strictly outlawed Psilocybe spores, such as California, Georgia, and Idaho.

The kit, however, does make it extremely easy to grow shrooms. Growers just purchase a syringe of spores or liquid culture, and inject it into the substrate-containing bag provided in the kit. Because the bag is sealed and breathable, it can be placed anywhere, even a coffee table. Advanced Mycology’s bags can even be microwaved before injected with their liquid culture, upping the chances of a productive yield. Advanced Mycology also claims that it has a unique filter strip technology to maximize airflow and protect against bacteria and mold.

Tyson said he enjoys taking mushrooms before working out, and credits it for his success in boxing. He said that challenging experiences make him “comfortable being uncomfortable,” and offered some advice: “You just gotta ride with it until it’s over.”
