PATOO naturally harvests Jamaican psilocybin mushrooms for its products.
Jamaican pharmacy chain Fontana Pharmacy has partnered with the country’s first legal psychedelic consumer packaged good company PATOO to sell PATOO’s suite of legal and lab-tested psilocybin-infused products at seven locations across the island.
“Jamaica has evolved into a sanctuary for those pursuing inner healing, and we are honored to offer our meticulously crafted products as alternative plant-based remedies to consumers,” said Kevin Bourke, co-founder of PATOO.
Jamaica is one of only a handful of countries worldwide where the cultivation, sale, and consumption of psychedelic mushrooms are legal; the island nation is also a prominent region for the psilocybin industry. It doesn’t hurt that PATOO’s co-founders, Bourke and Charles Lazarus, serve as inaugural advisors on Jamaica’s Psilocybin Mushroom Industry Technical Committee under the Bureau of Standards where they advise on the formalization of industry guidelines and regulations.
Fontana Pharmacies said that the PATOO products will be securely stored behind retail counters, and there are age restrictions on buying the products. The company also said that Fontana staff will receive comprehensive training on dosage, benefits, and safety measures to ensure informed and responsible handling.
Since 2018, PATOO has naturally harvested indigenous Jamaican psilocybin mushrooms for its products. The company said in a statement that its products are manufactured in a Good Agriculture Practices-certified facility that is compliant with the Jamaica Bureau of Standards & Ministry of Health.
Fontana said it would carry the following products:
Microdose capsules: made from PATOO’s proprietary mushroom strains and contain 200 milligrams of psilocybin per capsule
Microdose honey: handcrafted and unprocessed psilocybin-infused honey
Chocolate bars: psilocybin-infused premium chocolate crafted with 100% organic Jamaican cacao
Vegan gummies: made with proprietary psilocybin biomass and organic ingredients
